Receive an error when loading the roxio easy cd creator gui. Somehow the recorder is not recognized. Have searched tirelessly for drivers for this burner but have found no success. Anyone with a solution?
Is the device not recognized in Windows?
Does BIOS see the device?
Did you load any third party drivers on? ~Apex1x

I don't know about the "b" part. I have a Samsung sw-224. As I recall I just hooked it up and installed roxio.
Page 8 of user manual says no additional driver required for win(versions)as the default windows driver is used. With that as a starting point, I'd guess you'd want to work through things that the other participants would tell you to do to check for a properly installed device.
Three important ones I had to deal with were the cable, the master/slave settings and using the second ide connector on the motherboard. I don't remember what they were, but I had some problems when I tried to use it on the same cable with the hard drive. Then I went to the second ide port and tried to be frugal and save the new cable that came with the drive and use a used one that I had lying around. Wrong!
It was bad. After I got that checked out, the cdrw still wasnt working and the guy that sold me the computer had to remind me about slave/master settings.
Can you see the CDROM in the device manager? Does it appear to function correctly?
IF not, does BIOS see the CDROM device?
Did you upgrade to 2k or do a clean install? If you can understand it, you probably don't.
Thanks for the replies guys. I eventually formatted and re-imaged the drive and re-installed the software. Works fine now. Just didn't want to go through all this though.
