I need to interface with a Samsung Cash Register using the Serial Port. Where can I find information that details how the communication is established and information downloaded / uploaded.

Is there a command set that is used to send instructions to the register?

I'm writing an application in Visual Basic .NET that will poll the register for data. The register system is a complete stand-alone unit with cash drawer and bar code scanner. The serial port on the register can be set up to allow polling by a PC for reports. Somehow, you can send commands to the register and it will send back the report data requested in a comma delimited form. There is software available that will do this,
