I manage several officeserv 7200s and use the installation tool or most of the configuration changes I need to make. Is there any way to create a logon for the installation tool with a subset of things that can be configured? I would like to give some of my sites the ability to change ring groups and display names without giving them full access that could cause problems.

I don't think that the Installation tool will allow that. However, you can limit the access for the "customer" login to certain MMCs. Does the 7200 have a web interface? (long time since I used a OS7030, let alone a 7200) if it does I'd expect it to follow the same rules - i.e. you can restrict the customer access.

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Samsung does not recommend use of the web interface for phone system administration due to the possible corruption of the database. Web interface should only be used for voicemail administration.

You can, but it's limited to 2 levels. If you use Installation Tool and go to 2.1.7 you can create a login and password, then associate that with an access level (for customers it would be 2 or 3). You can then go to 5.13.5 to specify which programming sequences can be accessed by users with those specific user rights.
