Samsung ML-6040 works only from some network PC's

Hi

I have installed a Samsung ML-6040 laser on a windows xp pro machine and shared it on the network.

The printer works fine from the pc it is installed on and also works ok on my winxp pro machine.

However, from another machine (same OS) I am unable to print even a test page even though the printer seemed to install ok on this machine.

Also, the found new hardware wizard appears every time I boot the PC with the printer attached which is getting quite irritating.

Seems to me if the found new hardware pops up everytime then it didn't get installed. Have you checked device manager and it looks good in there? Might need the drivers reinstalled.

I think this is caused by the drivers which are not 100% compatible. I have resolved this by installing the printer software on each machine that needs to use it, even though it is not physically connected to each machine.

I stopped the found new hardware wizard from appearing each time by disabling the plug n play service.
