Samsung Hard Drive connection help

I have a samsung mp0804h 80 g out of an external dard drive and would like to connect it using usb into my pc which runs xp home i was wondering if this was possible thanks.

you need it back in the external drive case to connect via USB - otherwise its just a SATA or IDE drive and would need appropriate (SATA or IDE) connectors.

Someone said you can get an interface or something for them but not sure.

The Samsung HDD is an IDE 2.5" drive. Yes, you can get a cable to convert IDE to USB - here's an example:-

yes the person who checked it said that the interface was the problem and discarded the casing.

Just buy a new enclosure. they are very cheap these days.

yes the enclosures are quite reasonable and comes withe interface cables aswell...
