I have added a "DLI" card to a three cabinet KSU system which is approximately 12 years old at the current site (Large Retail Store). System has a software interface that looks like something from the late 70's or very early 80's
Now I have found extensions that are not being used and they seem to match up nicely with the exisiting extension numbers. So good so far....
Now I would like to label the extension, make certain buttons at certain departments i.e Service and Parts, have specific features to them.
If I was to copy exisiting sets to new extensions, do I need to have the phone plugged in at the client end for the "copy" to work or can I just programme the extension and then plug it in when I go to that department. I tried this and for some reason the "720" feature code comes up with "Invalid Data".
Thanks in advance for anyones help.

You may need to do an 806 to tell the system that the card in the slot is a dli, also the system (UK) usually assumes 24btn phones as default, so if the phones you're using aren't the default ones, copy key programming won't work. If you want to find out how the keys are currently programmed on a particular extn, you could do a transfer 107 and scroll through with the volume keys from that particular handset (providing it has a display). If you want a particular extension to be shown on a key, you'll need to program it as a DS button, if you want a group, it will need to be an SG key.

Good Luck
