I am interning at a small buisness that wanted me to install a cdburner that would be compatible with their Backup MyPc software. I checked the compatibility list and found this particular samsung that matched it. It is a samsung cdrw model sw-224b. I installed the drive and it showed up on my pc so I installed the software for it. When I restarted the computer a message came up saying that one of my drives has autoinsert and disconnect functions disabled would i like to change them and restart. I selected yes and got the same message when i rebooted. I tried doing it manually through device manager and still got the message. Also when I put a cdr into the drive the software program will continue to pop up after I close it.

to make matters worse the backup software still doesnt identify the drive. I called their tech support and he said that i should update my cju chipset and I dont even know how to start doing that.

I am sorry to make such a long post but I am in a bind and I wanted to get all the info out there. If anybody has any ideas I would appreciate hearing them because I am out of ideas of my own.

IF that was his response, it's gibberish to me, too!

Do yourself a favor: when someone says something you don't understand, just say simply "Say again" and have them repeat it. Especially if you don't understand it, write it down so you can get some help on it.

Near as I can tell he had to be referring to the FIRMWARE of the CDRW...how you got what you're saying, I can't guess.
So, take a trip to the Samsung web site and download a firmware upgrade for that model CDRW.

Went to the company's website and found their support ppl have provided some how-tos...here's the link:

The 4th item down about troubleshooting may be the help you need. If not, call the support ppl back. They work for you. Remember that. Remind them if you must.
