I hear this sound, and disc stops - 6 months. Someday - its absolutly free, but somedays him stops again evry couple minutes.
I no have any virus, i setting Bios to slave, master, or i connect 2 hdd, dvd, or disconneted all - this same again.
When i formats disc - again.
When i running HDD Regenerator - its all ok, but when disc stops, Hdd Reg. raport errors, when 10 second over - again all ok.
Someday when i on computer they errors: Loading system error and someday not.
And when i rotate disc 180 (leg to up..:) then its all ok. And nothing error hapens.
Please help..:)
Thanks, Artur

The drive has an internal fault, save your data & get another drive.

Internal fault - but disc its have 1 year, and its running with this problem - 6 months.. Meybe some program, low-level format, etc. - bring him to life without error?

You say that it works OK if it is rotated 180 degrees & that you can hear a metalic sound. This leads me to believe that the drive has an internal fault.

Internal error - ok, but i can't fix this? Some program or open disc and change some inside?
Only new disc?
If a using disc rotate all time, then how long him working ok? Months? Year?
Thanx for replay..:)

grzyweczka - could completely fail any time - (minutes, days or longer). In your position I would take kestrel's advice - backup data as soon as possible and replace the drive.

Thanx kestrel1, wolluf..
Samsung suck..:/
This drive have 10 months, with this error 5,6 months.
After 5 months new disc fail..:/
How new model buy? IBM? Maxtor? Some else?
Samsung suck!

I have found that Samsung are generally OK, but I have heard of a few failing.
I would choose between Maxtor, Western Digital or Seagate.
Unfortunaly all drives have bad days. I have found these makes to be more reliable than most.
