How do I use the Same table from two different databases in the same report?

I want to use MASTER from PRODUCTION and MASTER from TEST. I know I need to somehow use Alias (& Set Location?) but am trouble.

It's simpler than that, just go point to the two tables, Crystal should alias it for you. Database->Add Database to Report

Since you didn't mention the version of CR or the database, nor the connectivity type, it's hard to delve much more into this.

...vampire-So are you 3rd shift? or in a distant time zone?

We're on CR 7.0, should be going to 9.0 later in the project. Progress database 9.1b, ODBC connection sql92-MERANT 3.6

In the future I will need to use files from the environment above, along with Access. Here, I think we should go ODBC as well vs. flat file. Any thoughts?

I am an all shifts sort, working as required.

Crystal will severely limit your join types across multiple databases, so I'd consider using ODBC, Link (not import) to the various tables from within an Access database, and create Queries in Access to expose the data to CR.

I'll have to do some R&D on the ODBC, Link. Being newer to it, it could be a bit slower going. Queries make sense esp. from a design. I'm hoping I can still use the File Import feature for Access as we'll be getting ina monthly update.
As far as CR not being kind with it's Join's across the multiple db's, I think most of the reporting will be more in the line of summary information from multiple sources. If I turn out really lucky, I be able to keep the in separate subreports, but I'll find out more on the report requests soon.

Thanks again
