same file system device appears in multiple groups

I am using Arcserve 11.1 and thought I finally had all of my jobs set up and working. Everything was completing successfully backing up various Win2003 servers and Exchange. However, when attempting to restore some files from a backup yesterday, I realized that one of my backup "sessions" contained data from the wrong server. Further research revealed that although my "Device Group Configuration" may only show a single device in a group (just as I set it up), the same group when selecting a backup destination shows more than 1 device under it. In fact, the same device number appears in more than 1 group, causing my jobs to write to the wrong media half the time. And because it shows the device in multiple groups, it looks like different jobs are overwriting each other. Can anyone tell me how this is possible, or is this just one of those unexplainable arcserve quirks that people just live with?
