On a mitel 3300 I have a 5330 IP set that is extension 2908, I would like to assign that same directory number to a analog set so when someone calls extension 2908 it rings the 5330 IP set and the analog set. Is this possible?

Thanks

Short answer No, Both sets require unique DN's.

Long answer, depending on your requirements, there are several other methods of making both ring at the same time.

Most recently I've been utilizing the External Hotdesking feature but this requires licensing.

Other methods involve ring groups or Key appearances. Simplest of which is to make tha analog set 2908 and then program a key appearance of 2908 on the multibutton set.

All methods have their shortfalls depending on the application. More info on the application will yield better answers. Things like voicemail involvement are very important to know for example.

If you have access to External Hotdesking licenses that would be the way I would go.

you didn't mention the software version on the 3300.
you didn't really explain what the application.

assuming it is at least MCD 4.0
assuming an application such as a loud ringer on the ONS port or perhaps a consumer cordless phone

Go to "Personal Ring Groups" and click Add and enter 2908
then Add member and enter the extension number of your analog set.

if you make a call from either the 5330 or the analog set, it will come from 2908.
if you call 2908, they both will ring.

you can even put a "personal presence" feature key on the 5330 that will toggle the ringing on the analog phone (make sure you enter the analog phone extension on the key)

Yes its as least 4.0, yes its for a analog phone working off a ONS port.

Thanks for your help

Sorry yes, I made it more complicated than I needed it to be. Personal ring group is all that is required. (and I have used it)

Just shows why we share.

Thanks for all the help. The personal ring groups worked perfect.
