I have installed SAMBA on several machines. All the machines have basically the same smb.conf file. On one machine I can't get it to work. The error in the log file is; lib/util_sock.c:eek:pen_socket_in (830)
bind failed on port 139 socket_addr = 0.0.0.0
Error = address already in use

can anyone help

It sounds to me like your are trying to use an IP address that another device on your network is already using. Was this a new unix install per chance?

This error might not be related to your Samba install. Check the machine's IP address in the Network Configuration Manager.
