Samba upgrade

Dear Samba Gurus

I current have Samba 3.0.4 installed on an AUX box but I need to upgrade to 3.0.26 or 3.0.28. The problem I see here is that the directory structure is different. Currently the Samba is at /usr/local/samba3 and the install path for the newers versions is /opt/pware...

I really didnt want to have to do a lot of configuration changes ... Any advice?
