I am sure this an easy awnser for someone out there. I ahave a simple SAMBA share accessing the /tmp directory on my SCO 5.0.6 box. I would like for any files that are created in the directory to have full R/W access. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Not exactly sure what you mean, but how about this in your smb.conf

# This one is useful for people to share files
[tmp]
comment = Temporary file space
path = /tmp
read only = no
public = yes

Sorry, we create files from a proprietary system on the unix box and save the files to /tmp. Then useres other than the creator will go through their SAMBA share and try to edit and save the file on the SAMBA share through their widows based PC.
However this does not happen because they get a ACCESS DENIED error.

Thanks

The file on the Sun box still need to have permissions that will allow others the edit.

If the unix permission does not allow then samba has no way of being able to access the file.
