I am running Version 3.0.10-1.4E.2 on a Linux system integrated with a Windows ADS.

We often need to provide a Samba share to windows users that provides READ & WRITE access to local oracle owned files on the server. These files are created through oracle processes and have the usual oracle:dba owner and group.

I'm not sure how to set this up or if it's even possible.

Basically, I want to setup a Windows share that connects to an linux directory that has oracle owned files in it,AND, be able to create new directories and files in it.

Thanks.

You may play with force user and force group in your smb.conf file for this share.

Hope This Helps, PH.
