I have
1. Samba Version 3.0.10-1.4E.9 on RHEL4, utf-8
2. w3k server, iso-8859-1, mounting a share from 1.
3. no chance to change this configuration
When I write with PHP a file with umlauts encoded in iso-8859-1 into the share at 1. the umlauts are broken when I read at 2. Is there any chance to tell Samba not to talk utf-8 with w3k but to talk Latin1? Recoding the file into utf-8 at 1. does not solve the problem.
THX for any help!
