I am having a problem connecting to SAMBA from W2K ... I have tried to versions of Samba; a version that ships with tinyterm pro (this version I was unable to start the sbm services on the SCO box) and the latest version from the SAMBA site ... this version provides a service startup status however I now get a message from Windows that this account cannot log in (not authorized) from this station)

Can anyone tell what I might be missing? Either that or point me to a step by step all inclusive install procedure for SAMBA.

Thanx

Machine accounts... You need to set up a machine trust account on the samba server, to approve the machine wanting to connect...
Nick.

Thanx, I finally found the solution in the docs directory ... under chapter 9 diags ...

Enable encryption in smb.conf

Works great!
