I have installed samba 2.2.6 in redhat 7.3 and want to share some folder to windows clients (WinME, Win2000 and WinXP).

My question is:

Is it safe to use "preserve case = yes" and "short preserve case = no"?

If a linux partition is shared to windows clients and the clients will create filename with other character set (for example, Traditional Chinese), should I mount such partition with iocharset option?
