i am trying to get samba to work and setup a print server. I am using redhat 9.0. I can print directly from the server however, when I try to login from windows 98 or 2000 it says access denied. I don't have any iptables running at all so that isn't the problem. I can see the server from network neighborhood, Any suggestions? here is my smb.conf from the server

try adding a 'read only = No' to the printers section ...

Hi Jabra;

I had the same problem. But in my case i could print even though the networked printer share status shows "Access Denied, Unable to connect"

This should solve your problem, add the following line to
the [printers] section:

use client driver = yes

it worked a treat I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown lol. Please reply if this works.

P.S. Do you know how i can load printer drivers from the linux samba server when adding a printer to a win 2k/XP client, the reverse works ok.
