SAMBA Password Management

Hello,

Does any body know how to implement password expirations and things like minimum password lengths in Red Hat 7.2 running Samba.

Do you want to expire actual logins or samba passwords.

normal accounts :
man usermod

samba accounts
man smbpasswd
*note - don't think you can expire samba passwords.

You can join samba to a domain and use centralized management if you wish (if you have an existing domain controller this is pretty handy.) You should be able to find something by googling 'samba pdc'.

Thanks, I have Samba 2.x and I am still struggeling google doesn't help me much does anyone have any ideas?

Try searching for 'join samba 2 to domain' in google. There are lots of articles out there.

I don't use samba 2.x myself so other than this I won't be much help.
