I'm having no fun trying to get SAMBA to work on a new RHES-4 box. I can see the shares if i look locally, but from other systems on the network I get this behavior:
Code:
$ smbclient --list=192.168.197.204
Error connecting to 192.168.197.204 (No route to host)
Connection to 192.168.197.204 failed
$ ping 192.168.197.204
PING 192.168.197.204 (192.168.197.204): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from linux204 (192.168.197.204): icmp_seq=0 ttl=64 time=0.436 ms
64 bytes from linux204 (192.168.197.204): icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.239 ms

I'm also unable to access the SWAT front-end on this box, nor have I been able to make it join the NT-based domain.

Any help is appreciated.

Do you have
'interfaces = xxx' or
'hosts allow = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' in your smb.conf?
