SAMBA on SCO 5.06 - fake delete?!

I created a file logged in as root in a new folder

i tried to delete it while connected over samba...
it dissappears.
I press F5 to refresh the folder and poof it is still there..

WTF?!

I've seen that when accessing a Linux SAMBA share. It just appears to fail silently. In my case it was simply a permissions issue, but it's strange behaviour alright!
