Hi there
I am at the moment attempting to get Samba to work on an old Indy computer. The computer is running Irix 5.3 and as there are no compiled binaries for such an old operating system I downloaded the 2.2.3a source. This compiled and installed with no errors. I then editied a smb.conf file and started the two demons. All looked good. The computer apeared in the network neighbourhoods of the pc's. But when attempting to view the shared filesystems using the pc I get an error that I have not seen before!
\\Indy3 is not accessible
No more connections can be made to this remote computer at this time because there are already as many connections as the computer can accept.
I have been unable to find out what is causing this on the web. I can find no reference to allowed numbers of connections in the Samba documentation except the Max Connections variable which is set to the default of 0. According to the documentation that should allow infinate connections. I have tried setting this variable to a number but that did not change the problem. The client pc computers are running Winnt4 service pack 6a.
Does any one have any ideas where to look next please? There is the output from testparm at the end of this message.
Thanks
