I have installed Samba 3.0.24 on my AIX machine (v5.2)
I'm trying to get kerberos to work, but keep getting an error:
--------------------------------------------------------------
kinit(v5): Cannot resolve network address for KDC in requested realm while getting initial credentials
--------------------------------------------------------------
question: does the file krb5.conf need to be in /etc or /etc/krb5/ or is it suppose to be somewhere else?

any suggestions?

There should be a link in /etc/ to /etc/krb5/krb5.conf.

With that said....I couldn't get what you're trying to do to work (and I couldn't find anyone that did). I gave. Let me know if it works for you.

I have been able to authenticate to the OS (5.3) over ssh with krb5 and AD credentials.

I believe the next version of samba (4?) is going to have a lot more AD support.
