Greetings,
I have two questions:

A.) I have my two PCs networked using Microsoft Networking. One of these PCs is a dual-boot with SuSE Linux 6.1. What I'd like to do is setup my PC with Win98 and Linux so that the other PC can access it nomatter if it's in Windows or Linux. I'd like to attempt to share my hard disk and my HP printer (see question B) while in Linux.
B.) My second question has to do with an HP DeskJect 1120C (PCL 3-based) printer and Linux. I've tried to get this printer to print in X-Windows using KDE, however it print jibberish rather than the text or image I try to print via KImage or KEdit.
I have had limited success getting it to work with KLaserJet Tool (KDE's PCL control panel), but it usually prints a few blank pages after each setting change (and yes this printer does work in Windows and DOS).

Any help with either of these projects would be most appreciated. Thanks...

Does anyone know where I might find out how to solve the problems mentioned above? Even a tip on where to get a tip would be appreciated.
to A:)

According to the header, you already know Samba. So do you have a problem with setting it up? Then maybe take a look at
<A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> or <A HREF=" TARGET="_new">
to B:)

Did you try to print e.g. via lpr? Maybe this printer isn't supported by Linux yet.
A) I think you'd need to do two things for this to work. (1) Mount the VFAT Windows partition under Linux at boot up. (2) Set up Samba so that it shares the same directories using the same share names and the same Workgroup name as you use under Windows.

B) Try setting the printer up under lpr using "printtool", if it's available. Start with a basic HP LaserJet II setting and work up from there.

Wasn't there a packet in the configuration of SuSE6.1 specifically for being able to use HP accessories? I wasn't paying that much attention as I currently own exactly 0 HP accessories; but, having just run the install within the last 48hrs, I do believe I saw SOMETHING in one of the pkg descriptions about HP printers in particular.
RE part B

SuSE has their own printer setup in YaST based on ghostscript. (SuSE 6.2 uses gs 5.10 I am not sure what was in 6.1)

Set up the printer driver (filter) in YaST or by running /var/lib/apsfilter/SETUP. When you send a file to lpr it will be redirected through the filter.

If you can't find your printer listed try another HP printer setting. If it is for personel use you can get the latest copy of gs from Aladdin Software. (Not sure if I spelled that right.)
