I currently work for a medium sized business which is quickly growing. We have 55 concurrent windows users but it's feasible that this number will double in the next five years.

We're currently on an ancient netware 4.11 box for our file and print sharing but this is in desperate need of upgrade.

Additionally we plan on switching our foxpro databases to oracle in the next few years.

Can anybody share some of their success stories with samba in their corporate environment? Is it prudent/feasible to run 100+ user's file and print sharing on a dual core, dual processor linux box?

I have used Samba as a PDC with roaming profiles on a network with 20 workstations and remote users (laptop). With roaming profiles the hardest part is in all of the workstations to be setup the same way. All of that was on a AMD 1.2gighz w/521mb ram and 3 250gig hd's.
