Hi,
I can see my Samba machine in the Network Neighborhood but if I click on it I get "\\Bart not accessible. You might not have permission to use this resource ....The network path was not found."
Can anyone help me out with this ?

Thanks

you may want to comment out line by line of your smb.conf file to see which line is causing this problem

another place to look would be your smb log which would be defined in the smb.conf (I think default is /var/log/samba)
to see if there are any error messages

also if the log is not helpful I think there is a command to enter to your smb.conf that would increase the amount of data that will be appended to your log file and it might be easier to debug the problem that way.

Hi,
In Windows under "View workgroup Computers" it shows as "Samba Server(Dhcppc3)". However , if I am on the Linux box and I do a smbclient -L Dhcppc3 -U fakeuser , I get Connection to Dhcppc3 failed. This could have something to do with the problem I think.
However , if I do smbclient -L localhost -U fakeuser , it works fine.
I'm not sure what is going wrong ?

Thanks
Jason
