Recently I had to reboot the server and upon getting everything up and running, the smbd and nmbd daemons would keep dieing... The smb.conf file worked before the reboot fine and after using a samba start the you could see the daemons running for about 45 seconds and then would die... I tried just about every different way of starting the daemons... smbd -D & nmbd -D manually, tried reloading the smb.conf file, tried using the samba restart, I'm stuck.. Thanks in advance...

Is there anything showing in the logs? I had this problem when I would load SAMBA and the start the firewall. For some reason SAMBA had to be started after the firewall.
