Samba Connection Slow with XP

When connecting to my samba shares with a win98 client, everything seems to work fine. However, when connecting when using an XP client, there is a long delay after entering the path in the RUN dialog before it finally pops up. When I start a copy operation to the share from the XP client, the same delay occurs before the copy actually starts moving. I had these same difficulties with Windows 2000.

Also, my samba server isn't showing up in the network neighborhood on ANY client.
