I have installed samba 2.0.3 on Solaris 2.5 and run perfectly with Windows 9x, but with Windows 2000 fails, because the messages say access denied.
My command and answer are:

smbclient "\\PCXX\HOTEL" -N -d 3
Added interface ip=1.0.0.15 bcast=1.255.255.255 nmask=255.0.0.0
Client started (version 2.0.3).
resolve_name: Attempting lmhosts lookup for name PCXX<0x20>
Connecting to 1.1.2.73 at port 139
session setup failed: ERRDOS - ERRnoaccess (Access denied.)

Can anybody help me please???

Are you using one of the GUI interfaces to manage the SAMBA? something like Webmin? if not, you should be :)

Make sure the conf file has the "friendly" name of the Linux set up, make sure SAMBA client has joined the domain( likely issue), make sure the SAMBA client is part of the workgroup if that is what you are using, which box is checking the passwords? are you allowing anomyous access(everyone?)

If you are running Samba as a PDC, you need to set up a machine trust account for each of your 2000 boxes.
