Hi,
Im trying to get Samba 3.4.0 working on a Solaris 10 Unix Host but I am having issues.
I downloaded the source code and compiled it myself with the --without-winbind option as we do not want to use winbind authentication.
The main points in the smb.conf are configured in the following way:
And I have created the following map:
Ive managed to get Samba working successfully in the past and am really struggling to find out the issue.
When I try and connet from my windows machine to the host the log for my machine says:

The smbd and nmbd procs look to come online OK but each time I try and connect I get prompted for username and password and even with the correct details it will not work.
Has anyone got any ideas what the issue could be?
Many thanks,

Im trying to get Samba 3.4.0 working on a Solaris 10 Unix Host but I am having issues.
I downloaded the source code and compiled it myself with the --without-winbind option as we do not want to use winbind authentication.
The main points in the smb.conf are configured in the following way:
Code:
[global]
workgroup = DARREN
server string = %h - Samba %v
security = domain
passdb backend = tdbsam
And I have created the following map:
Code:
[samba]
path = /sambaTest
read only = no
directory mask = 0755
valid users = accdarren
Ive managed to get Samba working successfully in the past and am really struggling to find out the issue.
When I try and connet from my windows machine to the host the log for my machine says:
Code:
saf_fetch: failed to find server for "DARREN" domain
and
Code:
startlmhosts: Can't open lmhosts file /usr/local/samba/lib/lmhosts. Error was No such file or directory
The smbd and nmbd procs look to come online OK but each time I try and connect I get prompted for username and password and even with the correct details it will not work.
Has anyone got any ideas what the issue could be?
Many thanks,
Darren
