I would like the Salutation field on the screen to include the Last Name and the Suffix in the following format:

Mr. <Last Name>, <Suffix>

Now, this is supposed to be straight forward but here's what's happening (I will show through an example)

Contact --> Mr. John Doe, MBA
First Name --> John Last Name --> Doe
Salutation --> Mr. Doe MBA

A comma is not appearing after 'Doe', nor can I get the Suffix to not appear either.

I have checked and double checked the Preferences/Names tab and it has the following settings:
- Salutation is set at "Use contact's last name"
- Suffix includes the acronym MBA (in fact, I included lower as well as upper case acronyms just in case)

I was on the phone with tech support going over this issue. At one point we thought that since we had imported the data, maybe there were some non-printable/control characters that had gotten through. However, I have since manually added entries into the data base and have gotten the same results.

The Salutation appears in the proper format when I print the Contact Directory report, but not so on the screen. What I want to know is if I can get the screen Salutation field to appear in the format I described.

Should I just re-install all of Act and start fresh? We have made a lot of changes to the layout, and have backed up and restored the database several times.

Thanks!
