Sales Serial Number Entry

When in the sales serial number entry form, when assigning serial numbers to a sales order the following error occurs:

A save operation on table 'IC_SOP_Serial_Lot_WORK_HIST' has created a duplicate key.

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PKIS010202'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'IS010202'.

Does anyone have any idea why this error appears or if there is a fix for it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
