Hi,
I have a sales report, and need to show only the name of the account manager and their total sales, for the account manager with the highest total.
(Using CR2008)

details section has the following;
{CreateDate} {Job No.} {Price} {AccountManager} {State}

I have account managers in two states (regions), being VIC and NSW so have created Grp 1 - Group by State

I created a second group which groups the account manager, and I created a summary of all sales.

After suppressing the details, I am left with a list of names and sales values, eg

John Smith $100.00
Peter Man $325.00
Linda Barr $57.00
John Weed $757.00
Mary Hugh $105.00

What I want to see is simply
John Weed $757.00

I will need to use whatever you help with in another 3 subreports which all show a highest, or lowest values for other criteria.

Thanks for your usual expertise :)

If you want to show only the highest sales regardless of state, remove the state group. Then insert a sum on your sales field at the account manager group level and then go to report->group sort and select topN = 1, using sum of sales as the sort field.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I do need to show by state, so I will have one account person for each state.

Does the same logic apply?

I applied the logic and am pleased to say it works a treat.

Thanks so much for your ongoing help :)
