Is there any way to disable or override my specials on st patricks day? I dont want any of the regular specials to go through only the ones I want. I dont want to undo all the specials for 1 day, is there some kind of hierarchy for activation schedules and price changes?

This is my first St. Pattys day, care to share any nightmare scenarios that might occur? What should I be prepared for.

Thanks
Jarad

Depends if they're promos, comps, price changes, etc. Most likely they are linked to events (Maintenance > System > Events). If that's the case you can disable the events or change the times for St Patty's, but we would probably need more info or else you might be getting some bad advice.

Yea they are all linked to events, I just didnt want to delete and then redo all my regular saturday specials. But I guess thats what I have to do.

thanks!

The events are stored in the Events.cfg file located in the Aloha\DATA, Aloha\NEWDATA, and every dated subdirectory folder. Easiest way would be to back up this file to another folder and then if you deleted all the events, you could simply copy this file back into the DATA\NEWDATA folder the next day and run a refresh.

I single date event will override a weekly or daily event. So if you have a Saint Pats special, assign it for just that date and it will over write any other event that day.. Dauphin has it right to save the events.cfg just incase you mess something up.
