I have just received a Sagem F@st 1201 V2 ADSL2+ modem from Optus which I have connected to my computer via a USB cable and it works. This replaces a DLink DSL 302G modem. I had the DLInk modem connect to a DLINK wireless router DI 524 for the wirelss devices at home (TIVo, laptops etc.) and it worked fine. However, when I connect the Sagem modem to the DLInk DI 524 router none of the wireless devices work. The network is recognised but no data is transmitted. Does anyone have any ideas?

Did you register your new modem with your DSL provider? Often, you have to go through a registration process with a new modem before you can setup your network... so..
1. Disconnect router from modem.
2. Unplug Modem, AC power.
3. Connect 1 PC to modem via ethernet.
4. Re-connect the power to your Modem.
5. Attempt to access the web from your connected PC.
6. If you get a registration page there, follow through the steps, and see if you get to the web. If you do, continue here. If not, contact your DSL provider.
7. Unplug your modem, and your router (if not already unplugged, power-wise).
8. Shut down your connected PC.
8. Reconnect the ethernet cable from your modem to your router.
9. Reconnect the ehernet cable from the router to the computer.
11. Connect 1 PC to router via ethernet
10. Power back up the modem (assuming you've had it powered off for at least 30 seconds, appx).
11. Reconnect power to your router after an additional 30 seconds.
12. Turn on your connected PC.
13. Give the computer time to boot up, and into Windows, and for whatever you have to load.
14. Verify you've got all the appropriate lights lit and/or blinking on both the modem and router.
15. On the connected computer, attempt to connect to the Internet.
16. If you connect right away, you know you've got access going through your modem, through your router, and over wired network.
17. Next is when you verify the wireless network... I'll not delve into the details there at this point.. if all else works, and you need help there, let us know.

It might be something as simple as the new SAGEM modem uses a different IP address setup than the Wireless router is
expecting.

If your wireless router is configured manually, you may need to setup the IP config for it to talk to the new modem.

Additionally, is the Pc setup also manual? perhaps its looking for the gateway in an address that no longer exists.
