I have a situation with on of my Sites running Sage 300 2020 PU2 on Windows Server 2012 R2. The Users connect via two Terminal Servers running WSSETUP. Both Terminal Servers are running Windows Server 2012 R2 like the Production Server. I often have to repair the installations on the two Terminal Servers by rerunning WSSETUP. But this has become a regular occurrence - i.e. at least once a month.

Could the lack of Windows Updates on all the Servers be the cause of this problem as I have observed that the Servers are not updated regularly and are always in need of Updates each and every time they encounter a "Desktop has stopped working" error?

You could try running RegAcc as administrator by itself and see if that fixes it. Then look at the registry and see if it has been changed in some way. WSSetup, in the end, doesn't do too much that is mysterious so you might be able to see what's going wrong with the installation and then correlate that to another event. The software, itself, doesn't care about Windows updates so it has to be another process.
