Sage 2017 installation woes

Hi,

Started this project for a customer with the knowledge that they were upgrading to 2017 - 300c Standard (64A)
I logged into sage portal and got the 64A keys
Had them clear batches, then backed up their network share and databases and replicated the current system on a test server (2008R2 running SQL Express 2014).
All was fine, data checked out so went ahead with their live data and that went fine also.

Then I was told that they had purchased a new lanpak user license and the license I was given was for 2017 Premium - this is problem #1
Also, apparently their Sage Partner says that they actually have 300c Premium, but the portal still has only Standard licenses.

I should also mention that Sage is not installed on a server per se (IE Sage install has not been run ON the server) and it has always been that way since 5.6 (5.6 -> 2012 - 2017)

I thought perhaps if I installed the Premium LanPak on the share (by doing a Premium install on a workstation) I could solve the problem, thinking that a lower product would run on a higher product LanPak but seems that there is no license sharing happening.

Any help is appreciated!

You can't mix edition licenses.

ettienne,

Thank You for confirming that.

Seems like I am between a rock and a hard place here.
Sage portal only has these 64A keys:
Sage 300 STD GL BDL
Sage 300 STD AR BDL
Sage 300 STD AP BDL
Sage 300 STD SM BDL
Sage 300 STD MultiCurrency BDL
Sage 300 STD Optional Fields BDL
Sage 300 STD MSSQL Users BDL
Sage 300 Prem GL Consolidation BDL
Sage 300 Prem Intercompany BDL
Sage 300 Prem NAM BDL
Sage 300 Standard ERP

Is there something I am missing here?
Also curious about the 3 Premium (GL Consolidation, Intercompany and NAM bundles) how & why are they used?

I take it the Sage Partner involved has the leeway to provide licenses without Sage's involvement?

GL Cons, ICT & NAM only come in Premium but are edition agnostic.
Sage partners cannot provide any licenses, only Sage can.
You can only install the software that the client is licensed for.

More and more curious...I guess the new accounting person will have to pull all the emails, invoices, payments and licenses relevant to 64A and then someone will need to have a chat with the partner.

Thank You again for clearing this up for me ettienne!
