Can You Help?

I am new to sage 100. What is the relationship between 'this record' and 'parent record' in the tables and which is the best way of linking them.

Does anyone have knowledge of 'odbc error, column not found'?

I am currently using CR8.5

Thanks
Jules.

Hello Jules,

The this record an parent record works as follows.

For example the Sales Ledger, the main sales Ledger table is named SALES_LEDGER (The main table is the clearest to understand in all moduales.). This is at the top of the tree, hence the parent record just shows "0". The SALES_TRANSACTIONS table sits below the SALES_LEDGER table. Therefore the parent record in the SALES_TRANSACTIONS table refers to the "This record" in the SALES_LEDGER" table.

All of the moduals work in the same way.

With ref to CR8.5. Dispite the fact that the software comes with line 100. It isn't fully compatible and will only work for very simple reports, not all the functions work as they should and your problem is only one of many you will encounter. Others will become apparent when you try to link more than two tables and ask the report to refress!! (It doesn't)

You will get much better results by uning another product to create reports. I use MS Access and I haven't had any problems yet.

Regards,

Simon
