Hey Guys:
I jus finished reformating my hard drive and for some odd reason when I shut down my computer and boot it up later or the next day sometimes it boots up and says that I have to start it up with Safe Mode or normal. When I use normal it locks up, when I restart ot gpes right into safe mode..any help would be greatly appreciated. Scotty Mac a.k.a smaxted

sorry about that last sentance it is supposed to read:
"When I use normal it locks up, when I restart, it goes right into safe mode..any help would be greatly appreciated."

I also have one more thing to add, sometimes when I shut down properly and boot it up it goes straight into safe mode without even giving me a choice.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!
Thanks

You've got something in hardware that is using the wrong drivers or is failing.
You might want to look in the device mangler and see if anything is noted as being a problem. Ed Fair

TRY TO:
1) RUN "MSCONFIG" /GENERAL/ADVANCED/... -> UNCHECK "Enable Startup Menu" + CHECK "Disable fast shutdown"
2) INSTALL "SHUTDOWN" PATCH FOR WIN98 (4756US8.EXE)
3) RUN "SFC.EXE" FROM SAFE-MODE OR NORMAL MODE
4) FROM "BOOT-DISK" -> TYPE: "sys c:"

I'm running ME, I'll try the following thanks!
