Hi All,

Need a little help with a MAC OSX 10.4.11 running Safari 4.0.2.

I've worked on PC's my entire life but have no clue with MAC's so apologies if this is a bit of a dumb one.

Every time I open a secure website on this mac using Safari I get an error regarding the validity of the certificate. This could be online banks or secure email servers etc. Anything basically.

The error (actually a warning) is "Safari can't verify the identity of the website
When you view the details of this you see in red "This certificate is not yet valid".

On a PC I'd know where to look and what to do but I can't for the life of me understand why this MAC doesn't trust any of these sites. The ones I'm visiting (but not logging into just yet) appear to have Verisign certificates which I've never know to be not trusted.

I've googled around and found the "Keychain Access" application and in there the certificates appear to be installed already. Found a reference to the issuer in Keychains>>X509Anchors. Saying that this is hardly a Microsoft MMC so I might be looking at completely the wrong thing.

I've not accessed any of these sites in case there is a phishing issue going on here but if anyone can enlighten me on what's going on it'd be a massive help.

Thanks in advance all.

Thanks Andrew,

I've give that a try tonight. Hopefully I won't have the Entourage problems afterwards that that guy had.

Andrew,

Thanks for the help. That didn't fix the issue but I did find the problem. Quite embarrassing but the system time was set to the wrong month! Changed and all is well.

Sorry about that but at least I've learnt a few things about Mac now.
