I recently installed an S8720 with three port networks, G650's. Modems that are using DID's off the switch are randomly not working if the call comes in a trunk that is not in the same port network as the modem port. Open to any ideas...........
FYI....It is not an option to put all trunks/modems in the same port network. There is one trunk group made up of four PRI's that are scattered throughout each of the three port networks for redundancy, therefore the DID number could potentially come in any of the three port networks.

Modem is set to off and fax is set to relay.

Mode Redundancy
FAX relay 0
Modem off 0
TDD/TTY US 3
Clear-channel n 0
Here is a screen shot...all Avaya defaults....probably my problem.

and you DO have a synchroization source set in each port network, to a PRI/TI located in that port network? Analog extensions with modems are very sesnsitive to this. Setup your synchronization in each port network, and Dr Mitch thinks everything will be alright :)

I usually set modem mode to pass-through on the codec, try this if you already have your synch source set

Thanks.
Yes the four different PRI's are dispersed 2-1-1 amongst the port networks for that reason. The pass-through mode is what I changed it to this evening so we will see how it goes.....Thanks again

I have changed the modem setting in the codec set to pass-through and I am still experiencing the same problem. I do have a PRI in each port network set as the sync source.

check the firmware on all of your TN2302AP and TN2602AP MEDPROs, TN2302AP current firmware for HW11 > is FW118, for H3, it is FW094. for the TN2602AP, the current firmware is FW034

Also, if you have G250/G350/G450/G700's, check the VoiP version in those as well.

Modem pass-through is not supported on TN2302 HW3. If you have them remove them from the PBX. I've done this numerous times with modem pass-through. status your sync sources to validate they are actually running on the sync source and not the internal clock. I also suggest locking the MEDPRO and data ports at 100/Full.

X2 all good ideas jimbojimbo :)

The TN2302AP HW3 is a tough sell, telling the client we have to remove it, throw it away, and buy a new one from me :) (remember that commercial?)
