S8720 CM44.0 installation problem

Hello everyone,

I am trying to install an S8720 with hardware duplication. When i boot up the server, I telnet to it and I begining install CM4 from the cdrom. The installation process begins but it suddently stops and the installation is stopped and a message screen pops up as follows:

"This software requires reboot in order to continue" .

After that the server is rebooted and the whole procedure is repeated from the beginning like a loop. I have tried with different cds but nothing.
Has anyone seen that before? Is there a solution?

did you take out the cd before the reboot? one minor instruction seems to have been forgotten.

Can't really tell from your Subject, but, the most recent version of CM4, is CM 4.0.5, the ISO image is on the AVAYA support site, you can download it and burn a CD, give that a try.

My CD is CM4.0 ?

No I didn't take out the CD

I have a duplicae server.
the first server was installed sucessufully.
but with the second server, after I telnet it, I choose "insttall or upgrade MV software" but the installation is suddently stopped when it try to partitionning the disk,and a message screen pops up follows:

" This software requires reboot in order to continue"

the installation is stopped in this step:

Foramatting/dev/cciss/sda

please try using CM 4.0.4 or CM 4.0.5, CM 4.0 is chock full of bugs, and I would NOT recomend trying to use it/waste my time with it.

Try installing the software with the duplication Ethernet and fiber unplugged.

yes my CD contain CM4.0.5.

with the main server I have used the some CD and the installation was completly successfull.

but with the dulicate server, the installation stopped when it is try to partitionned the disk and installing RP on/Dev/cciss/sda6

and after that this error appears:
"this software requires a reboot in order to continue"

please any one have an idea how to reset logical drive ?

may be it can resolve the problem
