Hi anyone

can someone point me in the right direction for a document that explains a step by step instruction on upgrading s8710/20 etc. say from 3.1.2 to 3.1.4 or version 4

Cheers.

short & sweet

1. upgrade your TN or MM firmware

2. upgrade our IPSI (if you have one)

3. backup your translations, and make sure you have a copy OFF the switch. Use FTP and copy it to your PC or a USB flash drive (this is just "in case")

4. build the new license in RFA, if you are doing a major upgrade (CM 3 to Cm4 or Cm5, not needed on minor Cm 3.1.2 to Cm 3.1.4 upgrades)

5. go into the "maint web" page, "manage software"

6. here you can copy the CD, as an "installable image", once youhave the CD image copied, you can then go and install the new image...

It's not that hard, as long as you are prepared. I could find you a 500-700 page document, if you still want, but these are the basics.
