I need to get the steps on how to synch the time for our S8700 to a NTP.

Here ya go

1 login into the 8700
2 click configure server
3 click continue
4 Click continue again
5 Click Configure individual services
6 Click Configure time server
7 click Use these Network Time Servers:
8 enter the ip address or host name in the box.
9 click Do not install a new keys file
10 hit the change button

This can be during the day.

Hope this helps

1a2 to ip I seen it all

When I try this, it tells me the server will be busied out. According to the screen it will interchange.

The 8700's I have are not redundant! Therefore I cannot answer this question. I have done it and there was no outage.

Thanks

If you have 2 servers, then an interchange will occur when synching the server with the NTP.

Just a note about this - In 2.1 I had an issue when interchanging 8700s combined with a time change ....

All 4620 sets lost call logs ....

Now - this seems like it would be unrelated - but nonetheless it did occur.

I believe the phone firmware was 1.8 at the time.

Of course it was a high level manager that pointed out the error - after I had assured everyone that the interchange would have no ill effects.

cest la vie
