we have installed an S8700 trying to set up
cama numbering for 911 calls to send full number

length ext cid total

4 3 617555 11

this should send 617555xxxx from any phone
xxxx being extension number that called
ie: 6175553100 from x3100 which in this case
is room number 100 (last 3 digits match classrooms
of the school)

911 is setup as ALRT type calls to my crs-alrt buttons
on all operators phones (6424d+ types)

this works on ISDN public numbering
as I can call my cellphone and see the
correct number but when I do a test 911
call they only see 911 1508 / 911 1507
the PRI is trunk group 4

number to send is checked off on PRI trunk group
name to send is also checked off

am I missing something ???

Phoneuser:)

Are you sending your 911 calls to an extension maybe and they are call forwarded to the 911 center? And are you sure your 911 calls are routed through the ISDN PRI?

Shouldn't the length be set to 10, not 11? Are the 1508 and 1507 numbers the TAC of the trunk group?

I believe that CAMA numbering is only used when a 911 call is placed and sent through a CAMA trunk. CAMA trunks are dedicated and can only be setup as analog wink-start lines.

You might want to check your ARS and see what trunk group 911 calls are going out. From what you have stated, I think you may be sending 911 calls out a non-isdn and non-cama trunk.
