S8500 Upgrade questions 2

I need to upgrade one of our sisters company G3Si. I am looking at the S8500 because of size, but have two questions. Can I use the existing SCC1 carriers with S8500?
Can I have a configuration of dual S8500 control (like the S87XX)?

According to Media Gateways supported on the S8500, an upgraded SCC1 is listed.

Not sure about the second question...

You can use all SCC1 carriers except the A accrier which is replaced with an Expansion Port Network..

The S8500 does not support any duplication options as the S87xx does..
