Hello world, just startup a S8400 with TN8400, TN8412AP on a G650 chassis.
Starting up the S8400 was like any regular S8xxx, configuring the SIPI TN8412AP also.
S8400 is getting licensed to SIPI.

A list IPSI show this

1 1A02 198.152.254.1 198.152.254.1 ipsi-A01a IN active 0.0.1.0
List config all give nothing.

but i still have this error about a SYS-Link error
and follow the maintenance book does not give me much help.

Disp err
PN 01 EXP-PN 513 0 06/21/16:21 06/21/16:21 1 0 0 a y
PN 01 EXP-PN 769 0 06/21/16:21 06/21/16:21 1 0 0 a y
01A0201 SYS-LINK EAL 13 06/21/16:38 06/21/16:39 2 120 2 a y

List sys-link

test sys-link a0201
TEST RESULTS

Port Maintenance Name Alt. Name Test No. Result Error Code

01A0201 SYS-LINK EAL 985 FAIL 6

Also when adding cab 1 as rack i get this when adding IPSI 1
Location is 01A02 , when i first add cab 1 as a G650 the IPSI location is 01A01 which is false because CPU is in slot 1 and IPSI slot 2.

IP SERVER INTERFACE (IPSI) ADMINISTRATION - PORT NETWORK 1

IP Control? y Socket Encryption? n
Ignore Connectivity in Server Arbitration? n Enable QoS? n

Primary IPSI
------------
Location: 1A02
Host: ipsi-A01a
DHCP ID: ipsi-A01a

So any help is welcome.

Thanks

Dan

My understanding is that the IPSI needs to live in slot 1. At least, that is what the docs say, and what has worked in my experience. The S8400 integrates as an external media server (8500/87xx) that just happens to be physically located in the G650.

OK guy's just did another test this morning i did move my CPU and SIPI to a Prologix cabinet and fire it up and guess what it work fine

So my next try will be to put CPU in slot 2 and SIPI in slot 1 of a G650 cab to see if it works.

here is a list conf all.

Thank JeremyParr
you were right, IPSI must live in slot 01
just moved from the Prologix Cab to the G650 and with SIPI in slot A01 and CPU in Slot A02 everything is back to normal

By the way i should say RTFM
page 18 of the installation show the IPSI-2 Connector in slot 1
But the initial document for Overview and Detailed Description for S8400 Media Server were showing the IPSI-2 connector in slot 2 on the picture but the CAB was an old G600 instead of G650.
SO that is why i got confused.

Anyway now it does work.
