I have 6 s8400 new installs and did the staging in the office as the sites are remote. The first site is local and when I tried to power it up and add cabinet, ipserver and enable it, I get tone board alarm. List IPS 1 shows its active but no controlling the cabinet. I have EXP-PN alarms and list con all shows no board. I can access the SIPI card from shell. This has happened on two systems with exact same symptons. Any ideas

are you using the dedicated control network on the S8400? If so, you need to assign it an IP that is compatible with the SIPI, and use the short cable to link the S8400 CN-A port, to the SIPI card.. the other port on the S8400 will be on the "clients LAN"
