I have a s8400, i can ping between the 8400 and the sipi, but i have the red "etr" alarm light on constantly on the sipi card, and when i browse to 8400 server side and do a query ipsi, it never see's it, and i cant add my license's as these are referenced against the serial number of the sipi card.

Any ideas before i pull what little of my hair is left out!

Also i have read the manual severeaal times and just want to add, i am installing this in a g600 cab as i am upgrading an ip600.

U have the 8400 card in slot 1 the sipi in slot 2 and the x-over on the rear connectors between the two cards, are that on the 8400 large connector i am in eth-a(first one below the usb where the modem goes) and then there is only one place to put it on the sipi med-pro style connector.

Tks again.

macwoody1976, yes, I have seen this issue many times, and, believe it or not it is related to the speed/duplex of the IPSI and the eth3 dedicated CN port on the S8400. Try setting them both to "auto/auto". as wacked as this sounds, it seems to fix the issue. I would prefer to set them both to "100MB / Full", but that seems to cause the problem.

I am having a similiar issue. S8400 in CMC with SIPI. I cannot browse to the S8400 via the web or ping it but the pbx is up fine? I also just found that 2x a day the client has all their phones freeze for 20 seconds. If you press some buttons on the phone it does nothing but 20 seconds later it goes through all your key presses in order?

I have the SIPI at 100/full ETH A on the banjo to the S8400 then a Ethernet cable to the netgear. Any thoughts?

Yes, like I said, set the SIPI ethernet port (via the service port), "set port negotiation 1 enable"
then set the ethernet port on the S8400 to auto/auto as well. your problems will disapear, most likely
